    • if it shows mailed by it means something is not working at the domainkeys level. Look at the message source if it has the signature in there maybe something's wrong with the DNS entries.

I got an email early in the morning ( 8:28 GMT+2 ) from John Reese, founder of BlogRush . • Yep what I took away from that email was "we're a bit screwed, we launched too early, and now we're trying to figure out how to catch up - fast - before you all ditch us".

For me it's an experiment, so I'm not too stressed, but for folks really trying to drive traffic to their blog I hope it's not a waste of time. I still don't quite understand why they'd launch without the ability to customize at least the colors of the widget - it can't possibly be that hard to add that functionality. And any excuses along the lines of "we didn't expect this much attention this fast" I'm afraid I'd have to say are naive. There are too many 'big' tech blogs 'fighting' each other for content - to the point where some of them will write about ANYTHING new.

Regardless, I'm curious to see how it'll all play out.
  • Sometimes it's better to launch with limited features so that you get user feedback. It may turn out users want something different then what you're trying to give them.
I don't mind the lack of widget customization, I think that's going to come at some point anyway. But when you talk about traffic stats are a must. You can't say we drive traffic to you without showing you how much traffic you drive or you earn credits by displaying the widget but we can't show you how many credits you have.
But I guess that doesn't matter much for most of the bloggers that signed up.
I didn't even know there would be no reports when i signed up, I thought that would just be there.
Another reason for so many subscribers and traffic they get is that a lot of A list bloggers wrote about them, kind of endorsing it...
